- The OET test fee is expensive. As of August 2018, it costs AUD 587 (PHP 23,011.34). Even if you’re well off, that’s still a significant setback. So, the pressure to secure your score goals in your first attempt is high.
- Training with a review center or an OET exam preparation online course, while definitely worth it, is also quite expensive.
- OET test registration, administration, and results release take time. So, if your potential employer has a set submission deadline for OET results, you need to make sure you meet it.
- If you’re currently employed, preparing for OET can be a challenge. You need to set aside time and effort for test review without compromising your work performance.
Don’t let the
pressure overwhelm you. If you don’t have hours to spare for OET review, don’t
panic. You can still ace the exam. You just have to be smart with how you spend
your limited study time. Maximize your training with the following review tips.
- Enroll in an OET exam preparation online. Can’t commit to a classroom-based training program? Enroll in an online course instead. You can attend online sessions anytime anywhere, provided that you have the essential equipment (i.e., laptop, speaker, and headset) and a reliable Internet connection. Get competitive OET training at your most convenient times!
- Commit to a review timetable. Set aside at least two hours each day for OET review. It’ll help you pace your training efforts, encourage long-term retention, and avoid burnouts brought about by extensive study sessions. Don’t forget to include your OET online course classes to your timetable.
- Test yourself regularly. Answer as many practice exams as you can to get used to its demands and test your understanding of your lessons. Determine your weak points and work on them. Develop your time management strategy by testing yourself under OET’s strict conditions.
- Practice your communicative skills as often as you can. You don’t need to set aside hours to exercise your linguistic abilities. Practice them as often as you can.
- Talk to your family, friends, and colleagues in English.
- Watch English shows, news broadcasts, and movies.
- Browse health-centered websites, journals, and magazines.
- Make sure everything you write at work has no grammatical inconsistencies.
Take
every opportunity you can to refine your linguistic abilities.
- Study with someone. Preparing with someone working towards the same goal can do wonders for your study motivation. So, consider finding a study buddy or joining a study group. Tackle complicated questions together. Review each other’s mock test performances and provide constructive criticisms. Help each other understand complex linguistic concepts and get used to applying them in healthcare contexts.
Don’t study
hard. Study smart. Make every second of your OET review period count with these
strategies. Want to learn more ways to enhance your OET performance? Visit our
