Going Mobile: 3 Apps that Prove Mobile Learning Is the Future

It seems that nothing can escape the mobile app revolution. Nowadays, if you need something done, more likely than not, there is a mobile application for that. Let us say you are on your way to OET Makati. The commute was bad, and traffic was heavy that day. It is too crowded to bring out your study materials, so what are you going to do?

You bring your mobile phone out, and it contains worlds! Your phone can contain podcasts, electronic copies of your review materials, and may even have apps that will help you prepare for the OET.

Why are mobile apps perfect for learning English? Here’s why:

Apps are free (well, most of them anyway)
Most apps are free, with purchasable items post-download. These are features you can add to its functionality that would make it more useful, but you don’t need to.
      Easily accessed
As long as you have data to spare to download them, mobile apps are pretty accessible. Although some of them might require Internet connectivity to function, most are quite useful, even offline.
      Enjoyable and user-friendly
Apps are primarily designed to be user-friendly; that’s why it is perfect for those who are not “techie.” Once you install them, they either have a tutorial on how they work, or you can easily learn it by yourself.
      Mobile
Whether it is installed in your tablet or mobile phone, apps would contain more information than you can ever carry on your way to your review center for OET.

Still not convinced that you should go mobile? Here are three nifty apps that might change your mind.

1.     Grammarly
Grammarly is your usual spellchecker that is a hundred times more reliable! Although it is more known for its utility as a desktop application, Grammarly’s mobile version can be installed on your phone’s keyboard, correcting and checking your every word–like your personal coach. Grammarly is free but you can opt for a paid version with more functionalities.

2.     FluentU
FluentU is unique in its approach to teaching English. It takes everyday videos and turns them to instructional materials for English learners. It also has games and quizzes that can entertain and teach you basic grammatical concepts on your OET Makati commute.

3.     Facebook
Although not primarily a learning app, you can use Facebook to stay in touch with your review classmates and share notes or to search for groups and pages on OET that can provide tips for the exam.

Give apps a chance, and you can make your commute and your life easier.
