Yes, there is! You can
contact OET and withdraw your test application or have your exam date
rescheduled. Read on to find out more about these options.
Withdrawing Your Exam Application
The first thing
that you need to know about OET withdrawals is that they’re irreversible. So,
think twice before you cancel yours. Are you certain that it’s the right
decision? If you’re sure, here are the fees and conditions involved in OET’s
withdrawal process.
• Withdrawals cover the entire test. You can’t withdraw one or two
sub-tests.
• You can get refundable withdrawals if you cancel your test on or before
23:59 of the Sunday prior to your exam date.
• You
can withdraw your exam application and
get a refund…
o
…up to the application closing date of
your exam schedule. Simply
log in to your myOET profile, go to the section with your booking, and select
“withdraw.” The non-refundable booking fee (AUD 7) and the administration fee
(AUD 120) will be deducted from your refund.
o
…after the application closing date and
up to a week before your scheduled exam. You can either file your withdrawal through your OET
account or get in touch with OET support. The non-refundable booking fee (AUD
7) and the administration fee (AUD 200) will be deducted from your refund.
• You
can withdraw your exam application BUT
you won’t get a refund on or after the Monday prior to the exam.
• The processing your withdrawal request
may take up to 20 business days. Business
days are Monday to Friday.
Consider these conditions
before you withdraw your test date. Weigh the pros and cons carefully. Think
about the event that made it difficult/impossible for you to take the test,
your future commitments, and the possible attrition of your OET review center knowledge if you delay your exam
attempt. Withdraw your schedule only if you know that it’s the best decision.
Rescheduling Your Test Date
Like
withdrawal, the deferral of OET exam dates has a lot of conditions. Read on to
find out what they are.
• Deferrals cover the entire test. You can’t reschedule one or two
sub-tests.
• You can defer your exam schedule at any
time up until your test date—provided that
you have not yet completed the exam day registration process in your OET venue.
• You are required to defer to an upcoming
open exam administration date. So,
best check future test dates before you reschedule your test.
• You
can reschedule your exam application…
o
…up to the application closing date of
your exam schedule. Log
in to your myOET account and select “defer” in your profile page. Choose the
future date you want to take the test in. The administration fee is AUD 120.
o
…after the application closing date and
up to the day before your scheduled exam. You can either file your deferral through your OET account
or contact OET support. The administration fee is AUD 200.
• There are no refunds for deferrals.
