OET General Regulations and Conditions — Get Familiar

The Occupational English Test is the leading English language proficiency test for healthcare professionals who want to pursue their profession in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, and Singapore. OET General Regulations and Conditions

Aside from attending in an OET review center, it is also vital that you learn the OET guidelines before taking the test. Below is a list of the OET general regulations and conditions:

• As part of the Occupational English Test Application, test takers will be asked to confirm that they have read and understood the OET Terms and Conditions.

• Test takers must comply with the OET Terms and Conditions, as well as the OET Regulations. If a test taker did not comply with any of these terms, conditions or regulations, he/she would be ineligible to complete the Occupational English Test and/or will not receive the OET test result.

• Test takers are responsible for checking the English language skills registration standard of the authorities and organizations that regulate their profession for the minimum OET grade accepted by the institutions to which they are applying for. They must also check for the following:

§  …whether the institution only accepts an OET grade that was obtained in just one sitting or not.

§  …whether the institution has a required validity period of the OET results.

§  …whether the institution requires a specific OET grade for each sub-test (Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing).

• Examinees are required to take all the four sub-tests (Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing) in just one sitting. During your classes in an OET review center, look for practical test-taking tips and strategies that can help boost your core communication skills and ace all the OET sub-tests.

• The Cambridge Assessment English and Box Hill Institute (CBLA) determines the test dates, test applications closing dates, and test fees, Please note that not all venues are available for applications on all OET tests dates, so test takers must check the venue availability on the  OET website.
